Selçuk Göldere has worked as an actor, dancer, choreographer, researcher and a director on a range of international theatre and dance projects bringing performing arts with a focus on theatre, dance, music, dance theatre, musical theatre, site specific performance and choreography into conjunction with other art disciplines and practices. He is currently Professor of Dance for Hacettepe University (TR) and a freelance dancer/choreographer (selcukgolderestudio) in UK.

From 1997-2004, Göldere was a Senior Research Fellow with Department of Theatre, Ankara University (TR), From 2001 to 2009, he was Choreographer and Dancer of Modern Dance Company (MDT) a Project of the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Turkey. He has worked with international choreographers like Beyhan Murphy (UK), Yener Turan (TUR), Alparslan Karaduman (TUR), İhsan Bengier (TUR), Mehmet Balkan (TR), Aydın Teker (TR), Zeynep Sunal Öngün (TR), Lale Balkan (TR), Marco Cantalupo (ITA), Katarzyna Gdaniec (POL), Frederic Lescure (FRA), Nurdan Menemencioğlu (TUR), Apostalia Papadamaki (GRE), Angeline Proljokaj (FRA), Suna Göncü (GER), Annabelle Lopez Ochua (COL), Molly Maxner and Kelly Maxner (USA), Peter Schmitz (USA), Barak Marshall (ISR), Jossi Yungman (ISR), Jan Push (GER), Dieter Baumann and Jutta Hell (GER).

He was an Assistant Professor Doctor with Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (TR) From 2009-2010 during which time he was the Director for the theatre department of university and was Wice- Dean. He staged three theatre pieces like Galileo writen by Bertolt Brecht, Macbeth writen by William Shakespeare and A La Turca- Collage writen by contemporary Turkish writers there in Orthodox Armenian Church in Çanakkale. From 2010-2013 he was invited to Ankara and began a long-term research into creative processes in contemporary and modern theatre dances with Ankara University State Conservatory and he was the Deputy Director and the Director fort he modern dance department of the conservatory. He directed modern dance pieces in Ankara which are named Four Season, music composed by A. Vivaldi and Black Earth, music composed by Fazıl Say. From 2012 to 2014 he was the Director for Anatolian Express/Migration and Li the Ant the interdisciplinary dance theatre projects for Erhan Sahne Sanatları Merkezi. From 2010-2021,

Göldere was Artistic Research Fellow and Official Partner with Goethe-Institut Ankara where he worked closely with international dance and theatre artists and the companies like Tino Seghal, William Forsythe, Ronit Land, Christopher Roman, Xavier Le Roy, Wanda Golonka, Senem Gökçe Oğultekin, Jasmin İhraç, Selatin Kara. Maria Palazzi and Norah Zuniga Shaw, German Agony, Sabina Thanner, Jana Schmück, Anna Dietrich, Elias Lazaridis. From 1993 to 2022 He also worked as an actor, choreographer and a director with Ankara State Theatre (TR) and staged two main theatre pieces called Terorist by Rıdvan Şentürk and The Night Was So Dirty and That They Both Disappeared by Plinio Marcos there and they were a project which culminated with the three years repertoireProject of theatre (2019-2022). During this period, he was invited in Hacettepe University Ankara State Department and he was the Board Member in Fine Arts Institute of Hacettepe University, a Deputy Director and Head of Department in Ballet, in Theatre and Modern Dance Departments. Finally he was worked as a Performing Arts Department and Professor of Dance there. Also served as an advisor on the undergraduate, postgraduate final projects and dissertations. Göldere he was invited to Spain, Hungary, Hungary, Israel, North Cyprus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhistan, Russia, Austria, Grece, Germany, USA, United Kingdom, India, Morocco, Tunusia, France, Belgium, Denmark, The Netherlands to perform and to stage theatre and dance pieces and give presentations in conferences there.He has held short-term and long-term research positions in a variety of contexts including Ankara Experimental Stage (TUR), and served on the directorial boards of some associations, private theatres and dance companies. He has published widely and is frequently invited to speak at events internationally. Göldere has considered worthy bythe various awarding juries including Ankara Art Investment Awards, Direklerarası Audience Awards-Best Dance Theatre, The Best Production, The Best Choreography, Üstün Akmen Awards-The Best Choreography. He has taught for different education institutions in the past including Theatre and Dance Departments of Ankara University, Çanakkale University, Anadolu University and Hacettepe University. He was graduated from the School for New Dance Development (Dancer and Choreographer) in Amsterdam (2001-2005) based at the Amsterdam School of the Arts, and Direction des Etudes Choreographiques, La Notation du Movement (Notation Laban-Cinetograhie) based at the Conservatoire National Superieur De Musique et De Danse De Paris (2018-2019). Actually he has finished Acting and Directing Departments and gained academic degrees of undergraduate, master and doctoral levels in Ankara University.
